The |nasal bones| are two small, oblong bones which lay side by side in the middle and upper part of the face. The outer surface of the bone is covered by the |pyramidalis| and compressor nasi muscles. The two bones converge to form the bridge of the |nose|. The junction of these bones with the |frontal bone| is called the root of the |nose|. The |nasal bones| are completely rigid. Together with parts of the maxillae, they are the only hard constituents of the |nose|. The ~cartilages~ of the |nose| are flexible.
